You may want to donate an asset to the Foundation but retain the use of it until your passing. For example, you may want to donate your property to the Foundation but you want to occupy it for your lifetime. One’s residence is a good example. You may want to donate some artwork or a special collection to the Foundation but you want to enjoy them during your lifetime. This desire can be arranged.
You will receive a tax receipt for the donation based on the present value of the future or residual interest that you have given to the Foundation.
